First update in ages

Things to do for training portfolio #2:

  • Include relevant pages of last year's, to demonstrate improvement
  • Conference paper/overheads/program
  • Find some way of incorporating SGSA involvement!
  • Add more to this post later...

Worth updating?

Castoriadis: set target of reading three chapters/articles when home for half a day, five chapters/articles for a whole day, one if only in in the evening. So far (all of two days!) keeping to that.

Anarchism and Utopianism: proposal written. Will give it a bit of time before re-reading and sending in.

Vacation? Where?

Main task over the next few weeks: read up on Castoriadis and get going on that chapter. Remind self that thesis is the main point in being at university.

Other possible tasks/deadlines:

Since last update

Have read about five articles - no time to look up titles right now.
Also a lot of signing up for training courses, looking into travel grants and so on. I choose to count that as work - career building is, after all, an element of the upgrade portfolio i have to put together.

Update

Created a tasks calendar last night - haven't had time to type it yet.

Today: monumental reading list to get through in the next four weeks. Totally subject to nothing going wrong.

Long time no update

This does not, however, mean 'long time no work'.

Bibliography of thesis summary 3, compiled in preparation for supervision on 11/11:
  • CrimethInc Days of War, Nights of Love
  • G. Debord 'Society of the Spectacle' (book-length but found online)
  • S. Newman 'The Politics of Postanarchism' (article)
  • J.-P. Sartre Critique of Dialectical Reason vol. 1 (still reading - am up to end of book 1)
  • R. Vaneigem 'Basic Banalities' (long-ish article)
  • " 'The Revolution of Everyday Life' (book-length, still reading)
  • J. Zerzan 'Future Primitive' (article)

And another book about situationism. Can't remember author or title. Guess the important thing for now is having read it!

PS notes on length are inserted to reassure myself that, although this looks pathetic for 3 weeks work, it isn't really that pathetic.
