Actual work has slowed down for a bit while i try to get my thesis topic sorted and shake off a weird fluey-thing. I have, however, applied for two jobs and been on my first teaching course. (this morning)
The new (allegedly) improved thesis summary kind of exists. Or at least, I have a mindmap that would make sense written up in the linear way, which is what it needs to do.
Or: justifying taking time off to eat. Anyway, halfway through James Scott's Domination and the Arts of Resistance: Hidden Transcripts Not sure how much of it is applicable to the case at hand, but there are plenty of ideas i can use.
Research colloquium took up a couple of hours, so haven't done a whole lot else. Got a selection of books out of the library, am taking two (edited volumes) home to read and xerox-tag and leaving the other three (monographs) to take notes on tomorrow because my desk here is easier to do that on.
Tomorrow's tasks so far:
Photocopy the by-then tagged bits of the edited volumes, pre-queue.
Also photocopy Diani article from journal. Again, do this pre-queue.
Read and note or xerox(-tag) one of the two books by James Scott.
Maybe have another plough through Melucci's biblio.
Read Guattari's Chaosophy and Chaosmosis last night (both quite short books), xeroxed the relevant bits this morning. Worth getting in early to beat the queue, although reminding myself of that at 730am pre-caffeine isn't easy. Todays task is to harvest Melucci's bibliography and try to establish what is in the library here.
Over the last two days, read and xeroxed the relevant bits of the two books mentioned in the last post. Have got two more of Guattari's pre-Deleuze works to read through tonight. Also Melucci's biblography, which has supplied a few ideas of what to read next.
